The PVSSL is the premier summer soccer league in Western Mass. The League has been organized since 1982 and is currently (2012) in its 31st year of existence. It consists of four divisions - ADULT MEN, ADULT WOMEN, HIGH SCHOOL BOYS and HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS. The season for the ADULT TEAMS will open on Wednesday, June 6th. There will be scheduled a total of 14 games for each team. The season for the HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS opens on Tuesday, June 12th. There will be scheduled a total of 12 games for each team. The playoff games will add from one to three additional games depending how far a team advances into the playoffs. All playoff games for 2012 will begin on July 30th and run through the 1st week in August. Finals for the ADULT TEAMS will be on Friday, August 3rd, and for the HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS on Saturday, August 4th. The raindate for the final games will be on Sunday, August 5th and/or Monday, August 6th (depending on the amount of rainfall.) NO EXCEPTIONS!
TEAM REQUIREMENTS:
ADULTS: (1) A Registration or Entance Fee of $100 for each team (payable at the first meeting and nonrefundable), (2) a Forfeit Fee of $130 for women and $150 for men (payable by the second meeting and is refundable at the end of the season), (3) $65/game for women and $75/game for men for referee's fees (payable at each game played), (4) Matching Jerseys with a number on the backside of each shirt, (5) a Home Playing Field with all pertinent fees associated with it paid by the team and as directed by the agent issuing permission for use of the field. HIGH SCHOOLS: (1) A Registration or Entrance Fee of $80 per team (payable at the first meeting & is nonrefundable), (2) a Forfeit Fee of $100 (payable by the second meeting & is refundable at the end of the season), (3) $50/game for referee's fees (payable at each game played), (4) Matching Jerseys with a number on the backside of each shirt, (5) a Home Playing Field and all fees pertinent to it paid by each team using it as directed by the agent issuing permission to use the field.
EARLY REGISTRATION:
To avoid the first meeting, a team can register early by completing the following steps: (1). Download a copy of the League's Roster/Registration/Directory Form and complete. This is a single copy under ROSTER FORM. Mail this along with a check for the correct Registration Fee (see above) to: Bill Kolodziey, Commissioner, 88 Marion Circle, Ludlow, Ma. 01056 - a complete roster of players need not be made available at this time. (2). However for the second meeting, all teams in their respective age divisions must have a copy of the complete roster and a signed waiver form for each player, a check for the correct Forfeit Fee(see above), a home field secured and approved by the field's administers, along with any dates on which your team cannot have any games scheduled - this includes the months of June, July and August (once the game schedules are released there will be no changes made to them unless for a scheduling error), and for each player a 1"x1" photo either taped or glued to an "official" PVSSL blank pass form. The blank forms have to be picked up from the Commissioner either at a meeting or at his home. This is the only item that cannot be downloaded off the website.
PVSSL LEAGUE NOTICES:
(1). PRESEASON MEETING DATES: ADULTS - FIRST MEETING on Tuesday, May 15, 2012; SECOND MEETING on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. HIGH SCHOOLS - FIRST MEETING on Thursday, May 17, 2012; SECOND MEETING on Thursday, May 31, 2012. All meetings will be held in the Ludlow High School Cafeteria beginning at 6:00pm. (2). The League is not responsible for any liability insurances that may be required for the use of a playing field. (3). Once playing game schedules are released, there will be no changes made to them. All teams are advised to get their playing date constraints confirmed before the second meeting date in May.
